Sales Engineer/Applicator

Job Purpose:

  • Market Penetration in the defined market in East African countries through Application engineering and business development


  • Bachelor of Engineering (Metallurgy / Material Science/ Ceramics )

Specific work experience, knowledge and skills required to fulfil the role:

  • Minimum of 2 to 5 years experience
  • Prior experience of working in Steel , Foundry or metallurgical companies.
  • Problem solving & Decision making skills
  • Work in full compliance of EHS rules, from Saint-Gobain and from customers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Business development & sales for specified refractory products and customer contacts on regular basis.
  • Application service and support for Neutral Ramming lining in Induction furnace for steel melting.
  • Work with commercial team for initial penetration of the market.
  • Customer support/customer visits/complains handling.
  • Technical proposal preparation of a refractory lining (material and installation costs, cost calculation) as well as cooperation in concept preparation for new applications / furnaces.
  • Understanding of the price positioning and other commercial terms of conditions.
  • Site supervision (supervision of installation of SG refractory products delivered and processed by the customer).
  • Supervision of Installation of the SG refractory products at the customer’s site
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations required for the activity at the respective sites.
